Royal Geographical Society Island

Royal Geographical Society Iceland is an island at the junction of Queen Maud Gulf to Victoria Strait. It is the main island of the Royal Geographical Society Islands and is part of the Canadian territory of Nunavut.
The island has an area of 458.1 km ² and reaches a maximum height of 53 m.
There are three designated headlands on the island: Cape Davidson in the South West, Cape Adams in the southeast and Wharton Point in the Northwest. Cape Davidson was named after the geographer George Davidson ( 1825-1911 ). The island and the archipelago owes its name to Roald Amundsen.
