Royal League 2005–06

The Royal League 2005/ 06 was the second season of football competition for club teams and took place between 10 November 2005 and 6 April 2006. The winner was the second time FC Copenhagen from Denmark, who were able to prevail in the final 1-0 against Lillestrøm SK from Norway itself.

Mode

The twelve teams, four from the Danish Superliga, the Norwegian Tippeligaen, Swedish Fotbollsallsvenskan, were initially divided into three groups with return game against each other, the top two teams and the two-point and torbesten third place winners of each group were for the quarter-finals qualified, which was decided as well as the subsequent semi-final in a return match.

Quarterfinals

The first legs took place on 9 and 11 March 2006 on 23 February 2006, the return games.

Semifinal

The first legs in the semi-finals were held on 16 March 2006, the return legs on 23 and 26 March 2006.

Final

Average attendance

The second season was accompanied by declining audience interest. Average were 3935 spectators ( including the final ) to the games, which is a decrease of 1579 spectators. In the countries of Denmark led with an average attendance of 6454 (-1265) per game with Sweden 3343 (-216) and Norway in 1404 ( -3873 ).
