Royal Uncle Cao

Cao Guojiu (Chinese曹国舅, W.-G. Ts'ao Kuo Chiu ) is a famous Daoist Immortal Chinese mythology. It belongs to the group of the Eight Immortals.

Cao Guojiu was allegedly a relative of the imperial family of the Song Dynasty. His younger brother was so powerful that no one could take away from him, even when he committed a murder. But ashamed Cao Guojiu so much that he left his office and the palace and went to the hermitage. There he gained the status of an immortal.

He is shown with castanets and allows a Jadetäfelchen, the access to the imperial court.

Cao Guojiu is the patron saint of actors.
