Rozière balloon

A Rozière is a combination of gas and hot air balloon.

Named and invented the Rozière by Jean -François de Rozier Pilâtre.

A Rozière is usually of a spherical gas cell filled with helium (formerly also hydrogen), which is heated like a hot air balloon with fuel. From the outside, these days a Rozière looks like a hot air balloon, on which a truncated cone is mounted on top, which turns up in a second, smaller gas balloon

The advantage of Rozière over pure hot air balloons is the lower fuel consumption. It is therefore suitable for week-long balloon rides, such as record-breaking runs, cycling around the world.

So far only reach two manned round the world with balloons. Both have been carried out with Rozièren. Be Rozièren ignorance often called hot-air balloons. The journey of manned hot air balloons is a few hours, which is limited by manned gas balloons to a few days.
