Rózsafa

Rózsafa (Croatian Biduš ) is a municipality in the small area Szigetvár, situated in the Baranya County in southern Hungary. The population is about 400 (as of 2011 ), the area of ​​16.64 km ².

Location

The municipality is located 7 km southeast of the city Szigetvár and 28 kilometers from the county seat of Pécs.

History

The place was first mentioned in the 14th century. At that time there was a church which bore the name of the patron saint Szent Mihály. By 1570, this church was destroyed by the Turks. After the Turkish occupation Rózsafa was first through the Werbőcziek family, then dominated by the Perczel family as landlords. In the mid-17th century, the place for unknown reasons it was renamed Büdősfá. In 1899 he resumed using its original name Rózsafa. In the census of 1910 the population was 612, of which 609 were Hungarians. 510 inhabitants belonged to the Reformed, 99 the Roman Catholic and three Evangelical Lutheran Church.

The mayor of the municipality is currently Andrásné Macc.
