RSA Security

RSA Security Inc. is a company specializing in IT security division of EMC Corporation headquartered in Bedford in the U.S. state of Massachusetts and has offices in Ireland, UK, Singapore, India and Japan.

RSA organizes the RSA Conference, an annual event dedicated to IT security. The most famous products of the company are the cryptography program library BSafe RSA and SecurID authentication system.

The company was named after its three founders, Ronald L. Rivest, Adi Shamir and Leonard Adleman, who invented also the algorithm is the RSA cryptosystem based.

History

Rivest, Shamir and Adleman founded RSA Security Inc. in 1982 as RSA Data Security. In April 1996, the company Security Dynamics Technologies Inc. acquired for USD 251 million, the company RSA Data Security by its three founders. 1999, the two companies announced their first joint product line called Keon and Security Dynamics changed its name to RSA Securities Inc.
