RTC (Cape Verde)

Radiotelevisão Caboverdiana short RTC (Eng. Cape Verdean broadcasting) is the official state radio and television broadcaster and the largest media companies in Cape Verde. The RTC is a public company and was on 1 August 1997 in Praia, from the merger of the set RNCV ( Rádio Nacional de Cabo Verde ) and the TNCV ( Televisão Nacional de Cabo Verde) in the capital of the island group, was founded.

Under his management, the de Cabo Verde is Televisao (TCV ), the Rádio Cabo Verde (RCV ) and the Rádio Jovem Cabo Verde (RCV ), the youth channel of the country. Chairman of the Board is Horácio Moreira Semedo. RTC has its headquarters in Praia, offices in São Vicente, Sal, São Filipe, and Santa Catarina (Cape Verde). The company has correspondents in 22 cities across the country and is the largest employer in the media in the country.

TVC sends a program from noon to midnight, RCV is a contemporary 24 - hour full program while RCV 7 clock in the morning until about 22 clock broadcasting a program for youth. The RTC has finished versatile cooperation agreements with other broadcasters around the world, but mainly with countries of Portuguese language. These are mainly:

  • Cooperation and collaboration with the Portuguese television RTP ( 2001), TVI ( 2007);
  • Collaboration with the Public Television of Angola (TPA 2002);
  • Cooperation agreement with the Cuban television Cubavisión (2003);
  • Rádio Moçambique cooperation with (2005);
  • Memorandum of Understanding with the French TV5 (2006);
  • Partnership with the French Canal France International (CFI 2006).
