RTÉ One

RTÉ One is the oldest television program of the Republic of Ireland, led by Radio Éireann Telefís. The sender can be received on the VHF and UHF cable in the Republic of Ireland and via Sky Digital via Satellite in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The NTL cable TV company exudes the transmitter wired from in Northern Ireland.

The transmitter sends a 24 - hour program daily.

History

The station was launched in 1961 under the name Telefís Éireann to life. It was renamed RTÉ Television in 1966 to draw attention to the membership of the Radio Éireann Telefís.

In 1978, he was renamed RTÉ One since launched in that year RTÉ Two. From 1969, first shipments were sent in color, but it took too long to see all broadcasts were in color.

Since 1998 he competes with TV3 (Ireland ), the first Irish commercial broadcaster. TV3 was founded by the British ITV Group and the Canadian CanWest Global Group.
