RTHK

Radio Television Hong Kong ( RTHK; Chinese香港 电台) is a public Chinese broadcaster based in Hong Kong. RTHK operates seven radio stations and produced several television shows that it represents private providers. Although RTHK is funded by the government, its programs are known to be critical of the government.

History

The station was established in 1928 and renamed Radio Hong Kong ( RHK ) 1948. A year later, RHK was subordinated to the Government Information Services ( GIS). 1954, the station became independent. Until 1966 RHK sent three times a day. In 1976, the station its current name. 1989 was the first news channel. In 1994, RTHK online.
