RTL TVI

RTL TVI is a French-language television channel, which is common in the cable network of Luxembourg, Belgium and Luxembourg via DVB -T. The current owners are 66 percent RTL Group and as to 34 per cent audio press. The TV station took on 12 September 1987 on the transmission mode and is the first private TV station in Belgium. RTL TVI is the most-watched television program in French-speaking Belgium. Then a second offshoot called Club RTL was launched in 1995. Since 2004, another offshoot is operated with plug TV. The current TV program RTL TVI consists of entertainment formats such as Qui sera millionnaire? and TV series like CSI, House MD, Lost and Desperate Housewives.

History

RTL TVI arose from the PAL version of the French-language television station Télé Luxembourg, today's RTL 9 Due to the low number of audience in Luxembourg itself, two variants of the private television station were operated, the program in PAL (Channel 27 UHF) in the direction of Belgium and SECAM (Channel 21 UHF) radiated in the direction of France. The mid-1980s, however, both television programs split off more and more from each other. The PAL program, now renamed RTL Télévision television now directed explicitly at its Belgian audience, the SECAM program to viewers in Luxembourg and France. 1987 was definitively independently with the legalization of private television in Wallonia destined for Belgium program. The television named thereupon on 12 September 1987 in RTL TVI to, the abbreviation for TVI Télévision indépendante stands. However, the private channels stuck to his roots and continues to send Luxembourg with the Luxembourg license from the Belgian capital Brussels.
