rTorrent

Rtorrent is a free, programmed in C BitTorrent client for the command line practically all POSIX-compliant operating systems. He uses for displaying the program Library Ncurses and is thus suitable to use it with screen or dtach. Furthermore, the software can be controlled with XML - RPC over SCGI and there are numerous front ends, including several web interfaces.

Libtorrent

Rtorrent is building as the front end on the BitTorrent library called libtorrent from the same author. ( Not to be confused with libtorrent BitTorrent library of Rasterbar software. )

Important features of the program are among others Protocol obfuscation, Peer Exchange ( PEX), Distributed hash table ( DHT) and Superseeding.
