Rubén Filipe Marques Amorim (born 27 January 1985 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese footballer who has a contract with Portuguese giants Benfica.

Amorim is used on various positions. He can play both in the central, defensive or attacking midfielder, as also act as a right-back.

Career

Clubs

Amorim started his professional career at the Lisbon first division club Belenenses. Over the years he became more and more first-team regular and played until his move to local rivals SL Benfica in 2008, 96 games and scored 4 goals.

National team

In 2007, Amorim part with the Portuguese U- 21 team at the U-21 European Championship in the Netherlands.

For the World Cup 2010, Amorim was in the extended squad of Portugal. After Nani had infringed on 8 June 2010 at the shoulder, Amorim was re-nominated and took part in the World Cup with Portugal. He was on 15 June 2010 his debut for the national team against Ivory Coast.
