Career

Bemelmans has so far been primarily successful on the Challenger Tour. The Challenger tournament in Wolfsburg he won twice and also his only previous doubles title he celebrated on German soil. Together with compatriot Igor Sijsling he was victorious at the tournament in Aachen. His Grand Slam debut at Wimbledon in 2011, he celebrated, but where he was eliminated in the first round. Along with Justine Henin Bemelmans was in early 2011 at Hopman Cup runner-up. In the finals, they lost to the Americans Bethanie Mattek -Sands and John Isner. At the World Tour tournament in Los Angeles in 2012 Bemelmans won his first ATP title: Together with compatriot Xavier Malisse, he defeated the British Jamie Delgado and Ken Skupski in the finals of the doubles competition in three sets.

Since 2008 he plays for the Belgian Davis Cup team.
