Rubén Morán

Rubén Morán ( born August 6 1930; † 10 January 1978) was a Uruguayan football player.

Association

The Left Wing with Asturian ancestors played at club level at least 1950-1954 for Uruguayan club CA Cerro. Throughout his career, he also belonged to the cadres of the Club Sportivo Cerrito and Club Atlético Defensor. For the latter club he joined in 1954 in exchange for Argimon. His career ended prematurely.

National

The El Tiza called Morán was also a member of the national team of his native country, and took her to the Football World Cup 1950 part of Brazil. In this tournament, he came only to a single use. This was, however, to the final against Brazil, the so-called Maracanaço, which ended with the victory of Uruguay and the associated gain the world title. Morán, who replaced the injured Ernesto Vidal in this game, in this game, only 19 years and 344 days old, becoming the at that time until then youngest participants at a World Cup. Morán also belonged to the squad of Uruguay in the Campeonato Sudamericano 1953. After the career

Morán later completely impoverished, suffering from depression after retirement and died at the age of 48 years.
