Rubenow

Rubenow is a municipality in the north of the district of Vorpommern - Greifswald. It is administered by the Office Lubmin based in Lubmin. On 1 January 2005 merged United Ernsthof from the former Office Wolgast country with the community. Rubenow is now in terms of area, the largest municipality in office.

Geography and transport

Rubenow between Wolgast and Lubmin south of the Baltic Sea coast. About seven kilometers southeast of the municipality is the town of Wolgast and seven kilometers north is the official residence Lubmin. The north of the municipality is forested. There is also the former nuclear power plant Lubmin. In the south of the village is situated the Ziesetal.

History

Mittelhof

Mittelhof in 1851 mentioned as such. From 1832 until after 1932 it was named Karrin - Mittelhof, then belonged to the municipality of large Ernsthof. They were strung together colonists homesteads.

Sandhof

Sandhof was created in 1841, originally belonged to Karrin, therefore, also referred to as " Karrin sand box ", then in 1851 with " Sandhof ". Also this is a colonist settlement. Sandhof and Mittelhof are connecting the community to the river Peene.

Latzow

Latzow was named as " Latsow " was first documented in 1271. This means in Slavic place on the clearing.

Lower Voddow

In the ordnance map of 1880, the farm was first drawn. It was in 1920 named as Vorwerk Voddow. Only in 1995 the name Lower Voddow was mentioned in the community directory. Name interpretation, as Voddow.

Nonnendorf

The village was first mentioned in 1193 Nonnendorf as " Mylziz " and only in 1271 with the similar name already " Nunnendorp ". Mylziz was the nunnery mountains bestowed on Rügen and therefore renamed to Nonnendorf.

Voddow

Voddow 1305 was first mentioned in documents as such. The Slavic name means " water " ( voda ), but there are also other interpretations, such as " Domination, Duke " ( Vojevode ).
