Rubrocurcumin is a dye which is formed from curcumin and borates.

The reaction of curcumin with borates in the presence of oxalic acid produced Rubrocurcumin.
Properties
Rubrocurcumin in solution has a red color. Opposite rosocyanine a molecule curcumin against oxalic acid is replaced in Rubrocurcumin. Rubrocurcumin is a neutral connection to the outside, while rosocyanine is an ionically -built dye. Boron complexes as Rubrocurcumin are referred to as 1,3,2- dioxaborines.
