Rudd's mouse

The white-bellied brush hair mouse ( Uranomys Ruddi ) is a rodent species from the group of mice -like ( Muroidea ).

White-bellied Brush hair mouse reach a body length 8-13 centimeters, the tail is 5 to 8 centimeters relatively short. The weight is 41 to 53 grams. The hairs on the back are long and bristly, which raises a prickly feeling. The coat color is reddish brown to red-gray on the back, the belly is white or light gray. The dark tail is sparsely covered with short hair.

These rodents are located in the central Africa. Their range extends from Senegal to Ethiopia in the south and south to Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Their habitat is moist savannas and grasslands, forests, they avoid. They are nocturnal and build burrows in which they create a padded nest with grasses. Each building is occupied by two adult animals. The food of these animals consists mainly of insects.

The white-bellied brush hair mouse is widespread, there are no major threats known, the IUCN lists them as " not at risk " ( least concern ).
