Rude Boy is a song by Barbadian R & B singer Rihanna. It belongs to the genre Contemporary R & B, pop and dancehall. It was released as the third single from her fourth album Rated R.
Rude Boy was well received by critics and was a commercial success worldwide. It reached among others in the U.S. and Australia topped the charts, and the top five in almost every country around the world. In the U.S., Rude Boy Rihanna's most successful and best-selling single of Rated R and stood five weeks at the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 The music video is based on the Jamaican dancehall theme, with influences of Keith Haring.
Commercial success

Music Video
The Director for Music Video Melina Matsoukas led; it was filmed in January 2010 in Hollywood, Los Angeles in front of a green screen. Matsoukas already led the government to Rihanna's song Hard. The video premiered on 10 February 2010 on VEVO. According to his own statements, the video is to Rude Boy Rihanna's favorite music video.
Rihanna shows during the video many dancehall dances of the 1990s. In some scenes Rihanna is dancing along with a dancer. The video shows Rihanna in many different outfits, such as a zebra.
The music video has many similarities with MIA's video for Boyz. Melina Matsoukas director said: "Both videos are great; the video is the inspiration for the other. "
Live performances
Rihanna sang Rude Boy in the The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which aired on February 15, 2010. In the UK, Rihanna sang the song in the Alan Carr: Chatty Man Show on 25 February 2010 and GMTV the following day. On 3 March 2010 Rihanna Rude Boy presented at the ECHO Awards in Berlin with two robots. Rude Boy belonged also to the setlist of Rihanna's " Last Girl on Earth Tour".
