Rudi Gores

Rudolf " Rudi " Gore ( born September 5, 1957 in Gerolstein ) is a former German football player and current coach.

Career

His home club is the SV Gerolstein, where he became the youth national team. His active career began Bundesliga Rudi Gores in 1976 with Borussia Mönchengladbach. He was in the former top team but never a regular player. His personal best year in a Gladbach he had in 1979 with 24 Bundesliga appearances. Gore was in his time at Mönchengladbach once German football champion (1977 ) and once UEFA Cup winner (1979). After the 1980 season he moved to MSV Duisburg, left the club after relegation in 1982 but towards Fortuna Dusseldorf. In the summer of 1983 he moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for SC Fortuna Köln. Other second-division clubs, which played Gores, were Tennis Borussia Berlin and Viktoria Aschaffenburg. He scored 16 goals in 98 Bundesliga games.

In the first half of the nineties, he coached Viktoria Aschaffenburg in the Oberliga Hessen. From 1995 to 1997 he coached Rot-Weiss Essen, 1996 could reach the resurgence in the second league, but was released there in the season. On 1 July 1997 Gore signed a contract with third division FC Rot -Weiß Erfurt. He was released but due to financial difficulties after only 17 days. After that, he was obliged by the President of the Wuppertal SV. He was, however, very strong hostility of the Wuppertal fans because of his affection for Rot-Weiss Essen from the beginning. After two very unsuccessful years, he was released in January 1999. In August 2005, he accepted the offer by Bernd Krauss, to work as an assistant coach at Baniyas SC in Abu Dhabi. After this station Gore was on 11 April 2006 at the Spanish club CD Tenerife in turn assistant coach under Krauss. Both coaches were re- released on December 4, 2006 due to failure of their duties.
