Rüdiger Vollborn

Rüdiger Vollenborn ( born February 12, 1963 in Berlin ) is a former German football player.

Career

In addition to the victory of the U-18 European Championship in Dusseldorf 1981, he was in Australia with the German U-20 national junior champion.

Vollenborn was 1983-1999 401 times for Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the Bundesliga goal. The Leverkusen, he won the UEFA Cup in 1988 ( 0:3 and 3:0 nV 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out against Espanyol Barcelona). Vollenborn offered superior performance and had major share of the title. 1993 won Vollenborn also with Bayer Leverkusen DFB Cup 1993. He is still the record player from Bayer Leverkusen. Since his retirement in 2000 he worked as a goalkeeper coach for Bayer 04 - beginning in the youth field, from 2003, he broke Toni Schumacher as goalkeeper coach of the first team from.

When former goalkeeper Rene Adler Bayer 04 Leverkusen moved to in 2000, Vollenborn took the 15 -year-olds for four years at home.

After the 2011/12 season he was replaced as goalkeeper coach of David Thiel and has since worked as a full-time supporter liaison officer for Bayer 04.

His son Fabrice is also goalkeeper, he played in the Regionalliga team of Bayer 04 Currently he plays for TuS Koblenz.

In 2004, the 100th anniversary club, Vollenborn was elected to the Century Team Leverkusen.
