Rüdiger Ziehl

Rüdiger Ziehl ( born October 26, 1977 in Zweibrücken) is a former German football player.

Career

The Defensive Allrounder played as a youth player at SC Stambach and the SG Rieschweiler. Then he moved to FK Pirmasens, before he moved in 1995 to the first FC Kaiserslautern. There he played seven years and played three league games. After two years (2002 to 2004) at SV labor, he moved to TuS Koblenz with which he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2006. In the second Bundesliga Ziehl could not prevail and was added during the preparation for the 2009/10 season by coach Uwe Rapolder in the second team. He was advised by the TuS Koblenz, to seek a new club.

In August 2009, Ziehl signed a three-year contract with the amateurs of VfL Wolfsburg. Because of the lengthy injury but Ziehl ended his active career in 2011 and began training in the VW group.

For the 2012/13 season Ziehl was assistant coach of the second team of VfL Wolfsburg. After coach Lorenz - Gunther Kostner had become the successor of Felix Magath at the first team in October, Ziehl took over as interim coach the second team.
