Rudolf Platte

Rudolf Antonius Heinrich plate ( born February 12, 1904 in Horde, † December 18, 1984 in Berlin) was a German actor.

Life

When Rudolf plate was three years old, his parents moved with him to Hildesheim. The son of the merchant Josef plate and his wife Karoline left sixteen year before graduation the school and took acting classes. Rudolf Platte began as an actor in the theater and was in 1925 made ​​his debut as Shylock in The Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare on the outdoor stage Dusseldorf. It was followed by engagements in Bad Harzburg, Hildesheim, Hagen, Wuppertal and at the Residenz Theater Hannover. Some time was spent on Lobe Theatre in Wroclaw, where he also directed.

In 1927 he came to Berlin, where he led together with Werner Finck and Hans Deppe cabaret The catacomb. In the 1930s, plate also appeared in music revues in Berlin. Rudolf plate was buried in the cemetery Wilmersdorf in Berlin next to his wife. Their final resting place is since November 2010 an honorary grave of Berlin. Since November 2009 recalls in Hildesheim a plaque on his last residence there at him.
