Rudolf Stingel

Rudolf Stingel ( b. 1956 in Meran ) is a New York conceptual artist, who comes from South Tyrol.

Life

Stingel grew up in a family of entrepreneurs Partschinser, the building materials manufactures in Val Venosta. After training tests than students in traditional educational institutions such as the humanistic Beda Weber Gymnasium in Merano, in art school in the Val Gardena and as a conscript in the Alpini he was a self-taught over Vienna in 1980 to Milan, where he began to work seriously artistic and first exhibition had. In 1987 he went to New York and arrived there under the wing of the Paula Cooper Gallery.

Stingel lives in New York and has more residences in Mexico and in Merano.
