Rudolf von Tiefenbach

Rudolf von Tiefenbach ( * November 26, 1582 in Graz, † March 4, 1653 ) was an Imperial Habsburg commander who took part in the Thirty Years' War.

Life

The the baron belonging Tiefenbach occurred despite his Protestant faith in the Habsburg army and was in 1613 appointed Hofkriegsrat. Under Bucquoy Tiefenbach 1619 was promoted to General sergeant. He took part in the 1620 Battle of White Mountain, taking over after the death Bucquoys in July 1621 the command of the imperial troops in Hungary. In 1623 he converted to the Catholic faith and brought it under Wallenstein to 1631 for Field Marshal.
