Rue Sainte-Catherine (Bordeaux)

The Rue Sainte -Catherine is designed as a main pedestrian shopping street in the center of Bordeaux.

This 1250 m long north-south axis cuts through the historical center of the city and connects the Theatre Square ( Place de la Comédie ), named after the Grand Théâtre of Place de la Victoire. The road has more than 50 retail outlets, including department store Galeries Lafayette and the media store Fnac. The conversion to the pedestrian area began in 1976 and was completed in 1984. In the years 2000 to 2003, she was redesigned by Jean -Michel Wilmotte. Located near the Grand Theatre, the Gallery Bordelaise branches, covered Einkaufspaufpassage of 1833.
