Ruf Records

Ruf Records is a German independent record label that specializes in blues and blues rock. It was founded in 1994 by Thomas Ruf, the manager of Luther Allison. The company is based Lindewerra.

Since 2005 a group of musicians is compiled annually as part of the Blues Caravan Project, which go on tour together. 2011 there were Cassie Taylor, Dani Wilde Samantha Fish and as Girls With Guitars, assisted by Denis Palatin on drums. In the 2012 edition Cassie Taylor was replaced by Victoria Smith. The tour for the 10th anniversary of the Blues Caravan played 2014 Ruf-Musiker/-innen Christina Skolberg, Albert Castiglia and Laurence Jones.

Awards

In 2007, Ruf Records Keeping the Blues Alive Award from the Blues Foundation in Memphis.

The DVD Songs From The Road by Luther Allison was awarded the 2011 Blues Music Award for Best DVD.
