Ruhr Red Army

The Red Ruhr Army resulted in the Ruhr area in March 1920 for defense of the Kapp Putsch and the enforcement of revolutionary demands in an armed struggle against the reactionary and anti-republican Freikorps and Reichswehr troops, known as Ruhrkampf, Ruhr war, insurrection at the Ruhr or Ruhr uprising.

She counted more than 50,000 armed men, to a large extent by the First World War, her front experienced workers and was developed by the German Communist Party ( KPD) and the Independent Social Democratic Party of Germany ( USPD ) worn.

The first workers' battalions of the Red Ruhr Army were placed in the Official Mengede and leakage. They consisted mainly of sympathizers at the time of the anarcho -syndicalist Free Workers Union of Germany ( FAUD ).

The uprising of the Red Ruhr Army and the sympatisierenden with their workers was bloodily suppressed by the commanded by Lieutenant General Oskar von Watter Freikorps and Reichswehr units in April 1920.
