Ruhrpott AG

The Ruhr AG (RAG) was a German hip- hop group from Bochum.

History

RAG went from two earlier in the Ruhr area and beyond active hip-hop crews out: Filo Joes ( with the two MCs Pahel and Galla ) and Raid ( MC Aphroe and DJ Mr. Wiz ) ​​. Mr. Wiz does not come directly from Bochum, but from Oberhausen, Aphroe is originally from Herne. Both groups mixed at the beginning of the 90s in the hip- hop scene with; Raid are represented, among others, on the " The Class of '95 " compilation, as well as an integral part of all-star band " La Familia " (Raid, Curse, Stieber Twins, murder weapon, (the company ), STF and Busy).

In jams and other events Raid and Filo Joes encountered each other more often then. They noted that it connects a similar mentality and decided to make under the name " Ruhr AG " music together. As one of the first pieces, which was however not published until on the second album " POTTENTIAL " was the original version of " Deep in the West ".

In 1998 the debut album " Underground" about Peter Srekovichs label Put Da Needle To Da Records, who was the Fast Forward also active as an MC in the STF and La Familia. The ten titles have almost all of DJ Wiz produced; the Beats also Fast Forward, Aphroe, and Chris Funky by Too Strong involved. Features were of the Lange ( Too Strong ), Creutzfeld & Jakob and Chris Krass.

Three years later, was the second and last album " POTTENTIAL " published, which had been exclusively produced by Wiz. As guests were on Profane 78 and the singer E-One.

After two LPs common RAG members went their separate ways. Pahel ( "human nature ", produced by Monroe) Galla ( "Swing Kid" produced by Illfated Tree ) and Aphroe ( " 90 " ) released solo albums on different labels.
