Rui Pedro Silva

Rui Pedro Silva ( Rui Pedro Sá Alves da Silva, born May 6, 1981 in Santo Tirso ) is a Portuguese long-distance runner.

In 2006 he finished fifth at the European Cross Country Championships.

In 2008, he finished at the Olympic Games in Beijing in the 10,000 m 34th place and finished eighth at the European Cross Country Championships.

The following year he won the Great Ireland Run and came at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin in the 10,000 m on the 23th Place.

Domestic honors he has so far won in 2005 and 2009 over 5,000 m and 10,000 m in 2008. He was also in cross country in 2006 on the short-haul, 2007 and 2009 on the long haul and in the 15 - km road race 2009 Portuguese Champion.

Rui Pedro Silva is coached by Joao Campos and starts for the Maratona Clube de Portugal.
