Ruiru

Ruiru is a town in the Thika District in the Central Province of Kenya. It is located three kilometers away from the city limits of Nairobi. Ruiru is a satellite town of the capital and to reach both by road and by rail to the connection.

The population was still in 1999 at 100,000, by 2005 they had risen to about 220,000. The area is 292 km ², which is slightly less than the area of the city of Leipzig.

In the fertile area around the city there are numerous coffee plantations.
