Rum baba

Baba au rhum [ babao'ʀɔm ] is a high round ring cake of sweet yeast dough that is soaked after baking with a mixture of sugar syrup and rum. The name of this French cake is probably borrowed from the Russian Babushka, short for Baba, grandmother '.
