Rumford Medal
The Rumford Medal (English Rumford Medal ) is awarded one of the UK's Royal Society scientific award. It was founded in 1796 by Count Rumford and every two years working (even years ) in Europe Scientist awarded for a discovery to the thermal or optical properties of matter. The award consists of a silver-gilt medal with a relief portrait of the founder and is endowed with prize money of £ 1,000.
The Rumford Medal should not be confused with the Rumford Prize of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
