The time period during which something happens:

• In the economy, the time between investment and expected distribution of capital ( eg for securities )
• Contract period, contracts, the validity
• Run Time ( art), time period in which a system is active
• Running time ( computer science ), the time in which a program is run, or the algorithm requires a function of the input in order to solve a problem

The time period during which little changes its place:

• The transport time of a mail from sender to recipient, see post course
• Run time, in the general physics, the time required for a signal to overcome a distance, see transit time measurement
• Maturity ( Electrical Engineering), time difference between the occurrence of a signal in a ( causal ) system and the exit
• Run time ( network), the time required for a data unit to enter a data link from the transmitter to the receiver
