Runer Jonsson

Runer Jonsson ( born June 29, 1916 in Nybro; † 28 October 2006) was a Swedish journalist and author. In the German-speaking world, he is known primarily through the literary model for the animated series Wickie and the strong men.

At the age of 13 years Jonsson worked for the newspaper Nybro Tidning and was 19 years old in 1936 whose sole editor. In this position, he distinguished himself mainly by hard criticism of National Socialism. He also wrote articles for other newspapers.

As an author, he created roughly 50 books. The best-known children's books about the Wickie already mentioned ( Vicke Viking) and the books are about a boy the Bronze Age ( elm från Öland ).
