Rüningen is a neighborhood and municipality in the south of the city of Braunschweig. The municipality has the official number 224

History

Rüningen is documented as " Riungi " in the 8th century. Naming is Rüningen as part of a donation by the Saxon princes Odiltag and his wife Wentelsuint to the monastery of Fulda in 780, where twenty of the goods Liergaus are mentioned, including Riungi ( = Rüningen ).

Coat of arms

Infrastructure

Rüningen has over the B 248 direct access to the A391 and is located approximately 500 meters south of the motorway junction Braunschweig -south. Additional information is found along the country roads Leif earth Broitzem and Geitelde of unilateral biking trails.
