Rupert Graves

Rupert Graves (* June 30, 1963 in Weston -super- Mare, Somerset ) is a British actor.

Life and work

Graves was born in 1963 as son of Mary Lousilla Graves and Richard Harding. He had a wild youth as a province of punk and had a hard time in compliance with the rules. His first job after school was a casual job as a circus clown. At the age of 15, he got a small role in the British cult series Return of the Saint. Shortly thereafter, he played the Yan in an adaptation of Enid Blyton's Famous Five. In 1983, Graves made ​​his acting debut in the theater and in 1985 he received his first small film role in the hit movie room with a view of James Ivory. Graves has since played in numerous film and television productions. Also at the theater in London and New York, he is seen frequently. Since 2010, in the BBC TV series Sherlock, he plays the role of Inspector Lestrade.
