Ruschmeyer R 90-230 RG

The Rusch Meyer R90 is a single-engine, four-seat aircraft of the German manufacturer ATC Aircraft Technology Center.

History

The aircraft was developed, based on the Rusch Meyer MF -85, by Horst Meyer Rusch ( Rusch CEO of Meyer Aircraft, today ATC Aircraft Technology Center ) and Reinhard Molck ( Development Manager ) Melle. It was at the MF -85 instead of then and now available epoxy resin for the first time with the help of BASF in aircraft vinyl ester resin officially approved in combination with glass and carbon fibers as fiber composite material of the company Rusch Meyer for aircraft and used.

The first flight of the MF -85 P -RG developed from 1985 ( M Molck and 85 for the start of development ) is still found with a 6- cylinder Porsche PFM 3200 aircraft engine on August 8, 1988 in Biickeburg with Heiner Neumann as a pilot instead ( aircraft registration mark: D- EEHE ). The next two machines goods already under construction as a Porsche in March 1990 withdrew from the aircraft engine production. Then the machine was redesigned on the proven six-cylinder engine IO -540 Lycoming, the R90 - 230RG ( R Rusch Meyer and 230 for the engine performance in hp, RG for the retractable landing gear ) got the name. The first flight led by Heiner Neumann on 23 September 1990 and on 12 June 1992 received the machine, the approval by the Federal Aviation Authority. In 1993, the second prototype with a propeller turbine Allison 250 - route N17B was equipped with 420 hp, which was given the designation R90 - 420AT Lightning. In 1994 was a version with fixed landing gear as a beginner version on the market. 1995 Rusch Meyers Company was dissolved (after investment of 40 million DM) insolvent and in March 1996 she became. It fly today 27 of the 29 built machines of this type (26 series machines and 3 prototypes) and are still produced in small quantities by the company ATC in Melle Melle- Grönegau at the airfield.

Construction

When driving a Lycoming engine is IO -540 - C4D5 installed by type. The six-cylinder boxer engine delivers 172 kW ( 234 hp) at 2,400 min -1 in a throttled state and making the aircraft so that the quietest and most fuel efficient in its class. The four-blade constant speed propeller and hydraulic blade adjustment is supplied by MT-Propeller. Included in the cruise flight, the aircraft reached a speed of 165 knots (305 km / h). Built as a low-wing aircraft has a retractable tricycle landing gear.

Versions

The following versions of the R90 were planned:

  • R90 -180 FG, with fixed landing gear (fixed gear ) and weaker motor
  • R90 -230 RG, realized version with retractable landing gear ( retractable gear )
  • R90 -230 FG, with fixed landing gear
  • R90 -250 T -RG, turbo drive with 250 hp
  • R90 - 300 T -RG, turbo drive with 300 hp
  • R90 -420 AT, with Allison 250B20 as Turboprop
  • R90 Aerobat, aerobatic version
