Rush (2008 TV series)

Rush is an Australian drama series, which is produced by Southern Star and will be broadcast on Australia's Network Ten since 2 September 2008. The action takes place in Melbourne, Victoria and revolves around a tactical Special Forces, which is used for the prevention of crimes and not for their determination.

Action

Rush follows the lives of members of the prestigious Tactical Response team (TR ), which is based on the real Police Critical Incident Response Team from Victoria. She is a very mobile unit covering the operational gaps between the general functions of the police and the tasks of the SWAT team. The team is called to violent incidents such as carjackings, suicides and armed offenses. The series focuses on the TR officers, their intelligence specialists Leon Broznic and the head of the TR administration Inspector Kerry Vincent.

Most of the episodes contain at least one main plot and one or two smaller Nebenhandlungenen in which even the private lives of the characters portrayed. Normally, the team is divided into two vehicles, each edit a new storyline and meet only in the course of the episode.

Production

The pilot episode was filmed under the working title Rapid Response, in 2004 and is based on a screenplay previous Australian police series Police Rescue - Dangerous use. In the pilot episode also some character and actor were to see that later no longer showed up in the series, including Matthew Le Nevez, Libby Tanner and Corinne Grant. The series was initially rejected, but years later it was incorporated into the production, as the imported series of Network Ten by the 2007-2008 Writers Guild of America strike were affected. The series is filmed in Victoria. Jolene Anderson came in the second season to fill. A third season was ordered by Network Ten on 25 September 2009.

On 12 November 2010 the production of a fourth season was confirmed with thirteen episodes. As end of October 2011 it was announced Network Ten had designed the series from the beginning only four seasons, so this is now completed by the fourth season.

Broadcast

In Australia, launched the first season, which includes thirteen episodes, on September 2 on the transmitter Network Ten and ended on 25 November 2008. The second season consisting of 22 episodes that ran from July 16 to November 26, 2009. third season, which again comprises thirteen episodes, aired from 22 July to 16 December 2010. From 1 September to 17 November 2011, the fourth and final season was shown on Network Ten.

DVD Release

The complete first season was released in Australia on July 30, 2009. The second season was split so that the first part of 3 December 2009 and the second part with the remaining episodes was released on April 1, 2010. The third season was also divided so that the first part on December 2, 2010 and the second part with the remaining episodes was released on March 3, 2011. The DVD of the fourth season was released on December 15, 2011 in Australia.
