Russell W. Keeney

Russell Watson Keeney ( born December 29, 1897 in Pittsfield, Illinois; † January 11, 1958 in Bethesda, Maryland ) was an American politician. In the years 1957 and 1958, he represented the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Russell Keeney attended the public schools in Naperville and then studied at DePaul University in Chicago. After a subsequent law degree in 1919 and its recent approval as a lawyer, he began in Naperville to work in this profession. In 1920 he was justice of the peace in Lisle. Since 1924 he was employed there as a community servant ( Town Clerk ). Until 1935 he was deputy prosecutor and then from 1936 to 1939 real prosecutor in DuPage County. Between 1940 and 1952 he was there District Judge. Dananch he served until 1956 as a judge in the 16th Judicial District of the State of.

Politically, Keeney joined the Republican Party. In the congressional elections of 1956 he was in the 14th electoral district of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he succeeded the late Chauncey W. Reed meantime on January 3, 1957. He could exercise this office until his death on 11 January 1958.
