Russia men's national volleyball team

The Russian national volleyball team of men is a selection of the best Russian players who represented the Russian Volleyball Federation ( Wserossijskaja Federazija volejbola, Всероссийская Федерация Волейбола ) in international tournaments and international matches. Until 1991, the national team of the Soviet Union came to international, in 1992 played the United team.

History

World Championships

The Soviet Union was founded in 1949 with a final win over hosts Czechoslovakia first volleyball champion. Three years later she was able to defend the title against the same opponents in their own country. After a third place in 1956, there were 1960 and 1962 two more world titles. Both in Brazil and in the Soviet Union was once again the Czechoslovakia of playoff opponents. Olympic games

The Soviet Union was the first Olympic champion in volleyball and won at the premiere in 1964 against Czechoslovakia the gold medal. In Mexico in 1968 succeeded in defending the title against Japan. European Championships
