The Russkiy Toy (Russian Русский той ), also Russian Toy is a provisionally accepted by the FCI breed from Russia ( FCI Group 9, Section 9, Standard No. 352).

History

At the beginning of the twentieth century, the English Toy was a very popular dog in Russia. Nevertheless, he was there little or no further cultured as race, only began in the 1950s again a breed of toy terriers. This purpose, however, not only English Toy Terrier were used, but also animals without pedigrees. It was created a provisional breed standard, which differed from that of English toys, so that development of the Russian Toy started their own race. The default initially saw only short-haired dogs. From 1958, a long-haired variety was bred, which was renamed the Moscow Longhaired Toy Terrier ( московский длинношерстный той - терьер ).

Appearance

The Russkiy Toy is up to 29 centimeters tall and three kilograms. The hair is either short and smooth or long and smooth or slightly wavy in the colors black and tan, blue and tan, rare brown and tan, or in all shades of red, possibly with brown patches over. The long-haired variety has long ears fransiges hair, the outer corners completely obscured in older dogs.

Nature
