Rüstem Pasha Mosque

The Rustem Pasha Mosque ( Turkish Rustem Paşa Camii ) is an Ottoman mosque in the Eminönü district of Istanbul.

It was donated by the Grand Vizier Rustem Pasha in 1561 and built after his death under the supervision of Siftungsverwalters Mehmed Bey and Rustem Pasha's wife Mihrimah Sultan, Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent 's daughter in subsequent years according to the plans of the architect Mimar Sinan. The Year of completion is uncertain.

The mosque stands on a terrace above a row of shops of Hasırcılar Çarşısı in a busy bazaar street of Tahtakale district. It has a single minaret and is particularly known for its beautiful blue Iznik tiles from the inside and on the outside wall under the portico.
