Rusty Mitchell

Rusty Mitchell ( born November 29, 1982 in Midland, Texas) is an American race car driver. He took in 2011 at some races in the Indy Lights in part.

Career

Like most racers began his career in karting Mitchell. In 2007 he moved to Formula racing in the Formula Enterprise. He won the June Sprints and the championship of the Southwest Division in his first season. In 2008 he was vice-champion of the Southwest Division. He won every race, to which he departed. He also made ​​his debut with its own team in the Star Mazda Series. He competed in nine out of twelve races and finished the season at the 17th place overall. 2009 was followed by another season in the Star Mazda Series. He started again from pole position and was in a race on the podium. In the overall classification, he finished twelfth. 2010 Mitchell completed his third season in the starting Mazda Series for his team. With the fourth place as best result he improved in the standings to ninth place. His team merged into the season with Juncos Racing.

2011 Mitchell joined the team e in the Indy Lights. He went up to a total of six races and finished 14th in the driver standings. He also completed for Intersport Racing a race in the LMPC class of the American Le Mans Series ( ALMS).
