Ruth Nye

Ruth Nye MBE (* around 1932 in Australia as Ruth Farren Price) is an Australian pianist and piano teacher.

She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Farren Price. She studied music at the Melbourne Con .. In her early years she played among others in the Elizabeth Bay House, Sydney. In Australia, she was known for her television music in the 1960s for the ABC television. In 1952 she took part in a Musikwettberwerb ABC and reached the final.

The Chilean pianist Claudio Arrau had invited her to New York to study after hearing a performance of her in Melbourne.
