Ruth Schleiermacher

Ruth Schleiermacher married, Budzisch, ( born November 3, 1949 in Wunsiedel ) is a former German speed skater, who won 1966-1972 numerous national and international competitions.

Life and sports development

As part of the promotion of sports in the GDR Ruth was discovered as a speed skater at an early stage. In the speed skating group of company sports club Plauen motor coach Peter Zeller developed the talent running through April 1965. Thereafter Schleiermacher moved to the sports base of the SC Dynamo Berlin, where the coach Helmut Kuhnert worked with her. Together they were able to deny numerous competitions and earn achievements. The runner completed especially the distances 500 meters to 1500 meters and is thus one of the sprinters. In their active time they made ​​an official and two unofficial world records and another 27 DDR records. In 1968 and 1972 she was one of the DDR participants at the Olympic Winter Games. The mid- 1970s ended Ruth Schleiermacher their sports career. She lives in Berlin.
