Rutherfurd is an impact crater in the southern lunar front side, within the plane of the large crater Clavius ​​Wall, at the southern edge. The crater is hardly eroded, has a slightly irregular shape and has concentric structures and a central mountain inside on.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the American astronomer Lewis Morris Rutherfurd.
