Ruthie Matthes

Ruth V. " Ruthie " Matthes ( born November 11, 1965 in Sun Valley ) is a former American racing driver and World Champion, the race played on the road and on mountain bikes.

1989 Ruthie Matthes U.S. champion criterion and came in second in the Women 's Challenge. The following year she was at the Road World Championships road race in the Second, Third at the World Cross Country Championships, national champion in the road race and won the Tour of Okinawa. In 1991, she was mountain bike world champion, and in 1992 she won the World Cup. In 1992 and 1993 she was again third in the Cross Country World Cup. She was again runner-up World Champion in 1996. In 2000, she competed at the Sydney Olympics and finished third in Cross-Country tenth place.

Matthes in 2011 was inducted into the United States Bicycling Hall of Fame.
