Ruud Geels

Gertruida Maria Geels ( pronunciation: [. . Ɣe ː r ˌ ma ː trœy̯.da ria ls ɣe ː ] ) called Ruud ( pronunciation: [ ryt ] ) ( born July 28, 1948) is a former Dutch football player.

Club career

Geels began his career in the youth teams of RKVV DSS and RKSV Onze Gezellen. In 1964 he came to Stormvogels Telstar and achieved in only eight games already five goals. In 1966, he joined the Dutch club Feyenoord Rotterdam bulk. In Rotterdam Geels won the 1969 Dutch double ( league and cup ). In the European Cup of Champions 1969/70, he completed four games with six goals. International career

Internationally, he played 20 times for the Netherlands, scoring eleven goals. His debut in " Orange " team, he was the international game on 27 March 1974 in Rotterdam against Austria. In the 1974 World Cup in Germany, he was a member of the squad, but he did not play. He also took part in the European Championship 1976 in Yugoslavia, where he successfully netted the 3-2 in the game for third place. In the 1978 World Cup in Argentina - " Ruud " had from 1975 to 1978 won four times in a row, the top scorer - he did not belong, however, to the squad. With his 20th victory use the 3-0 on 14 October 1981 in Rotterdam against Belgium he retired from the national team.

Ruud Geels returned early nineties back to his first Serie A club to Velsen and was manager.
