Ruxandra Donose

Ruxandra Donose ( born September 2, 1964 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian opera singer (mezzo- soprano).

Ruxandra Donose studied singing and piano at the Conservatory in Bucharest.

In 1990, she won the second prize at the ARD Competition in Munich. This was followed by a first foreign engagement in Basel. From 1992 she was a member of the Vienna State Opera and folk. From here, a fast-paced, international career developed both as an opera singer ( Covent Garden, Opera Bastille, Metropolitan Opera, Salzburg Festival, etc.) as well as a song - and Oratoriuminterpretin.

Ruxandra Donose is considered excellent bel canto singer-actress, but also as one of the leading interpreters of the French and Mozart's mezzo compartment. Her voice is characterized by a dark, warm tone, extreme agility and a light, radiant height.
