Ruxandra Dragomir
Ruxandra Dragomir Ilie ( born October 24, 1972 as Ruxandra Dragomir in Pitesti, Arges county ) is a former Romanian tennis player.
Between 1990 and 2001 Ruxandra Dragomir won nine tournaments on the WTA Tour (four issues) and 15 ITF tournaments ( seven in each ). Your highest world ranking position they reached in August 1997 with 15th place
Her best performance at a Grand Slam tournament she succeeded in Melbourne, where they each stood in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open in 1997 and 1998.
In early 2001, she married Florent Ilie. After a long break (among other things because of an ankle injury and the birth of her first two children ) she played after 2003 only sporadically tournaments.
Dragomir also played for the Fed Cup and the Olympic team in Romania. Later, she was captain of the Romanian Fed Cup team.
On 23 February 2009 she was elected president of the Romanian Tennis Federation.
